Resorts, Atlantic City’s First Casino, Sold to Gomes Gaming

Our store’s host casino, originally owned by Merv Griffin, has been sold to Dennis Gomes and Gomes Gaming. Mr. Gomes lives in nearby Margate, NJ, and could be a very hands-on owner, which is great news for Resorts. He brings over three decades of casino experience to his new position, and could be the revitalizing factor the hotel has needed for some time now.

Coming to Resorts…

How many of you football fans go back far enough to remember the undefeated Miami Dolphins team of 1972? That was the first year I followed the NFL (I was 7 years old), and the Dolphins were my team because of their colors.

Two players from that team will be among the attractions at Resorts on January 30 when the hotel, along with Mike Ditka’s Gridiron Greats and BCS Sports Collectibles, hosts a memorabilia show and cocktail party in the Ballroom.

Hall of Famers Larry Little and Jim Kiick of that Dolphins team will join Super Bowl champion Jerry Rice and Icky Woods for the festivities.

Swarovski introduces the SCS TIGER

The 2010 Swarovski Crystal Society figurine, Tiger, is the final edition in the Endangered Wildlife series, following the Pandas and Gorillas, available exclusively to Society members.

Also available are the Tiger Cub Sitting and Tiger Cub Standing, both of which complement the Tiger perfectly.
